Los Angeles County’s beaches, harbors, rivers and parkways turned up discarded guns, an errant manhole cover and four trash-entangled octopi, among other debris, during this year’s Coastal Cleanup Day event.
The three-hour, Saturday morning cleaning frenzy drew more than 10,000 volunteers countywide who cleared about 26,000 pounds of trash, according to officials from Heal the Bay.
